Bannu, July 23, 2021: Trust for Democratic Education and Accountability’s (TDEA) Regional Mentor, along with members from Coalition for Inclusive Pakistan (CIP) Bannu, conducted a meeting with Mr. Pakhtun Yar Khan, a member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), from Bannu. The purpose of the meeting was to follow up with the MPA regarding progress made on the letter sent to him concerning the submission of a resolution in the KP Assembly demanding quota allocation for transgender people and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Local Government (LG) elections.
Mr. Khan assured that the letter had been discussed with KP Assembly speaker, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, who had committed to further discuss the matter with the Chief Minister (CM), Mr. Mahmood Khan.
While praising the efforts of CIP Bannu members and their proactive advocacy approach for the cause, Mr. Khan stated that a meeting will be arranged for the CIP members to meet with the CM, and directly discuss the matter with him as well, for swift action.
